Who Believes That Ninjutsu Is A Joke, Belt system and art itself?

15th dan??? thats cant be respectable, and the rate that people get these dan level is insane, pay the right price and you get a black belt in a year?

is there any actually respectable forms of ninjutsu, i have looked around, visited many and they all seem as effective as one legged man in an *** kicking contest

my instructor has done 3 styles and he says its the worst art he has done?

and he has 23 black belts

what do you guys recon? ninjutsu bullshit or not? if its not, give me reason to believe you

bare in mind this guy %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2otmp6GLj... is a 15th degree black belt, and he cant perform an effective throw or lock, he just sticks his hands up and tried to do something|||the unfortunate part in ninjitsu is more pron to being a mcdojo then other styles and gets a bad rap for it.

i am quite sure that there are legitimate people in the art that do know what they are doing.

lust because some one claims they studied an art doesn%26#039;t mean they did or that they studied under a legitimate person in that style. there are frauds in almost every style. not just ninjutsu.

a friend of my studied ninjutsu for 3 weeks before claiming he was 10th dan. he was even going to give me some ridicules rank in it. i turned him down, but my point is anybody can claim anything they want. and now a days you can run down to kinkos and run off a good look certificate, most people cant read japanese anyway so they would never know.

but to condemn an entire art because of the frauds in it is not right. your teach should know better. it does not make him look any better by condemning someone else art, it does say a lot for a poor character|||Ninjutsu is not a joke, but the art never used to focus entirely on Hand to Hand combat. Real Ninjas mostly had to master a sword and a few other killing weapons, along with acrobatic body strength and alot of other things with hand to hand, unarmed combat. And it depends on who is teaching it and where too.|||your going off of 2 peoples accounts of ninjutsu. I dont think that its all bad, but nowadays people will do anything to make a buck. REAL ninjutsu is practiced in dojos where there is no money to be made and the people who fight are doing it because thats what they love to do.

Martial arts is a touchy subject when theres money involved, but ninjutsu isn%26#039;t crap, its just been marketed into the toilet by sleezy a**holes trying make easy money|||%26quot;Also any person in any art who demonstrates on Youtube is generally a retard or lying.%26quot;

I agree hatsumi is a retard http://www.youtube.com/results?search_ty...

stay away from the booj or anything else claiming to be ninja. it%26#039;s compliant and attracts people who want to fantasize about being a comic book hero rather than learn to fight|||I%26#039;d be more worried about someone claiming they have 23 Black belts. As far as belts I think the whole thing is nothing more than an ego trip, weather it%26#039;s 1st degree, 10th degree or 15th degree.|||I don%26#039;t know. The Samurai took them very seriously. Perhaps we should too?|||NINJUTSU as it was once practiced was definitely not a joke.It adopted technique from many of the ancient ryu jujutsu kenjutsu yarijutsu some of which are still taught today.Performing a technique while wearing a ninja outfit doesn%26#039;t make it a ninja technique .

The technique that could be called ninja technique are no longer practiced like assasination espionage knowledge of poisons etc.

If some people want to practice jujutsu wearing ninja gear no problem as long as it%26#039;s kept real with free style randori and not just theorizing about how it might or should or the way you want it to happen.|||Ninjutsu itself is not what you claim ineffective or %26quot;bs%26quot;. Like all martial arts, there%26#039;s going to be dojos with horrible instructors here and there that%26#039;s going to go after your money than your personal growth or progression. Trust me, I have a Mcdojo right across from where I train and they%26#039;re all about the trophies and fancy equipment. I have very little respect for the teachers who run the school, but not the style.

Who teaches the style is a HUGE factor so don%26#039;t mistaken the style as being ineffective. You%26#039;ll find the right school if you really wanted to.

Best of wishes.

-Raax|||I won%26#039;t go into your question too much as I%26#039;m tired of the debate. however we don%26#039;t have 15 dan levels, there are merely 5 states of 10th dan. People call them 11-15th dan but this is incorrect.

Also any person in any art who demonstrates on Youtube is generally a retard or lying.

EDIT: I can%26#039;t view that clip as I%26#039;m in work and youtube is blocked, but I know 5th kyu%26#039;s that can perform VERY effective throws and locks. So my guess is the %26quot;15th dan%26quot; is a liar. There is simply NO WAY Hatsumi would have promoted him that far if he wasn%26#039;t worth his salt. Hatsumi has told people on many occasion that they simply %26quot;don%26#039;t have the bus fare%26quot; to continue being graded. So it%26#039;s not a cash thing. There are many people out there that made it in Bujinkan to 4th dan or 8th or whatever and left due to not having the capacity for any further achievement. Some still call themselves Bujinkan Shidoshi, and it is why you will read quite often that one must look for a shidoshi with a valid shidoshikai mambership card for the current year.

your instructor sounds like a joke...and it%26#039;s his loss if his instructor sucked or he didn%26#039;t get it. A REAL instructor should know enough about Martial Arts to see the pros and cons of ALL arts, and would not put another down so quickly regardless of their own personal bad choice of instructor.

%26quot;Bare in mind%26quot; there are close to 200,000 Bujinkan students. The percentage of useless enthusiastic idiots is the same as you would expect from any other art...

LINDZ: I don%26#039;t know where to begin...I%26#039;m sorry your American (edit: ninjutsu) Buyu are a bunch of Ninjer wannabe twats for the most part, but it really isn%26#039;t like that in the rest of the world. You really think Hatsumi sensei uploads videos? please....

Seriously, have some respect. You are calling a grandmaster who is highly respected and acknowledged by many authorities in Japan, a retard. It%26#039;s not his fault you don%26#039;t get his budo.

edit: Shihan J gives good advice here. For the most part 98% of dojo claiming Ninjutsu (or ninjitsu as they call it) are fraudlant, and it makes the rest of us spend so much time defending the decent 2%. At the end of the day, anybody who takes Hatsumi%26#039;s budo seriously really couldn%26#039;t care less if the lineage is real or the documentation is there or not. the budo speaks for itself, and I can%26#039;t find anything I%26#039;d rather study.

I%26#039;ve just realised I%26#039;ve contradicted my own opening sentance. :D|||I%26#039;ve been to a Tae Kwon Do school that was great with a amazing grand master until I learned they were ran buy a company that didn%26#039;t even care about the art. They handed out black belts to instructors after a few classes so they can teach half *** jobs to kids. It was all stupid stand up fighting so I moved to a REAL school with a REAL instructor who actually cared for the art. It%26#039;s like old school TKD with all different fighting styles. It%26#039;s the companies that screw with martial arts. The guy in the video is a joke probably. Usually, in most martial arts you would have to be an old man (very very old) to be the highest level. Even the guy I was taught be at the crappy school was legit and was amazing. He came from Korea and was old. Be aware of what the owners are ran by and if they ask for too much money, they will be scamming you.|||McDojoized TMA.

And you%26#039;re not taking REAL Jiu Jitsu, btw. It%26#039;s nothing like ninjitsu.
