i was thinling of starting ninjutsu but was just wondering other than the philosophical side of it,is it an effective defence against attacks,i also know that the curriculum would vary, but on average to be good at it how long do you reckon?? |||i%26#039;m sorry, i%26#039;ve limited myself to one ninjitsu comment a day and mine was a few hours ago, you can click on the link here. since you didn%26#039;t want to search for the answer. that and i really dont fell like retyping it all
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...|||Don%26#039;t recommend it for self defense. Pick a form of Brazilian Jujitsu. Every match up between the two ends with BJ winning. Gracie, RJC Muchado, take your pick. Typically with any martial art it will depend on your ability, physical condition, and dedication. Live and breath it, 6 months to a year. Giving an on average answer is a tough thing to do with any accuracy. Take advice from people based on their experience. If someone has only practiced Ninjitsu in their dojo, never in open compitition, take their advice with a grain of salt. Someone who has faced various martial arts in open compitition would have better advice. If their compitition experience is only facing the same martial art, how can they tell if it is effective?|||http://www.bullshido.com/articles/ninjut...
the unbiased review and ins and outs of bujinkan.
the problem with bujinkan is that many people are just plain outright frauds, then the majority of the rest are not really teaching ninjitsu but using the name to teach otherwise legit techniques, but are unscrupulously using the term to market themselves, then the even small minority that does claim to teach legit bujinkan is as the article describes-
even these people%26#039;s practices are questionable.
ask yourself: do you want to roll out of bed and wonder if you will be LARPing in class today, or learning to fight.
personally i would ratehr show up at the bars later with a fat *** bruise than a ninja costume and %26quot;toy%26quot; sword and fake rank.|||There is a majority of bunk when it comes to ninjutsu schools. If you can find a Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu school then have likely found a reputable ninjutsu school. Beware anything else, I%26#039;ve heard of a couple offshoots from Bujinkan that are ok as well, but this starts to get iffy.
As far as getting good, that depends entirely on the person. Don%26#039;t expect anything less than three to four years. And this is just a low level good, if that makes any sense.|||Any place that purports to teach ninjutsu is a mcdojo. The true practice of ninjutsu is impractical unless you%26#039;re an actual assassin. Additionally, just owning some of the equipment is illegal.
Just take boxing. Way more practical and keep you in better health.|||Unless taught by a private instructor, it is very hard to learn ninjutsu in its most pure form.
|||Any thing that is based on fictional turtles has got to be bad... try a real sport / martial art like Muay Thai...|||Try karate. Much better and if you%26#039;re good 4 years to blackbelt
