What is Ninjutsu (martial art)? ?

is it real? |||As a matter of fact, it is real. It involves much more than other martial arts like tae kwon doe, in that it often deals with military skills, methods of gathering information. It would very much seem as though it is some sort of espionage.

I don%26#039;t know whether you have watched the very famous %26#039;Tortues Ninja%26#039; or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That deals with Ninjutsu as well:-

Hope this helps!|||Ninjutsu has regressed to a martial art. A powerful one none the less. Before the modernization of Ninjutsu it was a pure art of assassination.

It was not all sword play as it is in the movies, they used daggers, throwing stars tipped in Poison. They were the masters of Poison, hiding and using various weapons to kill their target and escape. They were not stand up fighters, they would do whatever it would take to kill the target and get out. I said they were not stand up but they were very skilled at what they did. |||Brief summary, Ninjutsu is an art with many paths of knowledge and skill and NOT martial art!

For an in depth explanation, see below:

In the past during the feudal wars there were master less samurai (Ronin) that traveled in Nihon (Japan) and were known to hire themselves as bodyguards, assassins and more. They were sometimes by mistake misunderstood as being a Ninja from a local clan. Truth be told. Back in the old days people were not allowed to carry swords or any weapon for that matter unless it was apart of there required tools of trade. The same was for fighting styles. Only the Bushi Class was taught the arts of war. The Ninja however were not trained in that way. They were once farmers and simple village people mostly from the high regions of Japan. It was there that they were already skilled in the arts of hunting being they could trap and hide themselves well in their surroundings. They were also skilled in silent walking as well for this same purpose. The arts they learned that were considered combat arts were not in any way a Japanese art. It was originally from China. It was for this reason and more that they were so unknown and feared in their fighting skills. This fighting art compiled with the skills they were already fluent in was what was to be known as Ninjutsu. As for the Ju Jutsu connection to Ninjutsu. There is none. The only reason this is questioned is for the Ronin misconception and people that have tried to pass their martial skills to be Ninjutsu.

Way back in the old days before the Do disciplines were formed there were only jutsu terms in the arts. Ninjutsu was the same way. There was only Ninjutsu. Then the time came that the arts started changing in code and structure especially in the Bushi class (Samurai) Arts like Kenjutsu were changed to Kendo, Yari Jutsu was Yarido. Ninja however as we know were not Bushi Class. There were the lower class and not even considered by many to be warriors much less honorable to some points of view. However the Bushi stated that the arts should be reformed to a training style than and War/Fighting art. Ninja however did not follow bushido or any other form that the Samurai followed. Ninja had trained in their chosen arts for many years prior to the change in code and did not see why the change should affect how they lived and trained. So the art stayed in its original form and structure. Some say it鈥檚 the training art of Ninjutsu. Well OK lets look at that for a minute. The training art Ninpo/ Nindo. When did the Ninja start following the Samurai code? I don鈥檛 remember seeing in history the part that states that the Ninja were Bushi or followers of the class rules. So why the change in name. And the second one. Ninpo is said by some that it鈥檚 the higher art of Ninjutsu. Whets the higher art and who teaches it. Most of the people that talk of Ninpo as being the higher art have know idea what it means. They say it鈥檚 a spiritual art of the Ninja. But when asked what is the Kuji they have no idea. I can go on and on with this one. But to keep it short there is no high art called Ninpo or Nindo. Just someone trying to claim they are someone they are not. Just for reference let me ask. What is the higher art of Karate? Answer none. The art itself is what it is. People need to take what it there and respect history and its teachings and not change it to promote themselves to some money filled high degree. Ninjutsu has many arts in it that makes up one complete art. Body Mind Spirit. Ninjutsu is an art that has many paths of knowledge and skill...

As explained by Yo Sato, head Soke of the Sato Ryu Ninjutsu School in Grand Junction, Colorado|||Ninjas are glorified in Hollywood movies. In reality, they were weaker than the Samurai. The Samurai were true warriors. They were bigger, stronger, had better weapons, armor, training, etc. basically superior fighters in every way.

The ninja was a direct result of weakness. Instead of fighting head on, they would camouflage themselves, sneak around at night, and assassinate enemy warlords and other important figures, since they%26#039;d lose on the battlefields. The weapons they used were short dagger-like blades, long enough only to assassinate someone effectively, but not long enough to actually sword fight with. Ninja stars were another silent killing weapon they used, where they could fight from a distance and run away.

They weren%26#039;t the super sweet warriors you see killing 20 people at once in the movies.|||Originally, a %26quot;ninja%26quot; was just an EXTREMELY good Bushi who could get in, assassinate his target, and get out either unseen, or killing everyone who saw him. Now they have schools that teach %26quot;some%26quot; of the various techniques they used.|||Ninjutsu or Ninpo is a form of martial arts that was used by ninjas. It involves everything from, falling without getting hurt, and by making no noise, all the way to use of a bo and the katana. |||NINJITSU IS A WAY TO RIP OFF STUPID WHITE AMERICAN SUB-URBAN YOUTHS WHO WATCH TOO MUCH NARUTO.
