IDK. I think it depends on the school. I do Tae Kwon Do, and it took me 6 years to get my black belt.|||In the Bujinkan it could take anywhere from 2-6 years. You can skip kyu and dan ranks in the Bujinkan as long as you test up to that belt level. So, you will progress as quickly as you progress. That%26#039;s why the average is so varied. Ranking and belts in the Bujinkan (as previously stated) aren%26#039;t that important. They just give a VERY rough estimate of what your skill level is. Most of the belts in the Bujinkan are black anyway. Once you get your shodan it just means that you%26#039;ve got a good hold on the basics which, again, can take 2-6 years. A true black belt level would be a shihan%26#039;s rank 10 th-15th degree. Getting jugodan could take anywhere from 10 years to 50 years... if you even get that high at all.||| It does take a life time to learn to be a Ninja. In that case, the three ninjas are no where near becoming any such thing until they reach their 50%26#039;s.They do begin their training quite young, their bones have not formed yet, which makes it easier to learn how to get free if tied up,they learn how to dislocate their joints to enable them to free themselves, they are also trained to put their joints back in.The three levels that you want to achieve:Ronin,Jonin and Genin, the highest or Executive level is Ronin, they give orders to the Jonin(supervisor),whom in turn, pass it on to the Genin whom go out and do the job.|||In the Bujinkan, depends entirely on the shidoshi. Some schools use all the kyu ranks, others don%26#039;t use any. Rank is meaningless, and isn%26#039;t a measure of what you%26#039;ve achieved, but what%26#039;s expected of you from that point forward. Just train and you%26#039;ll get your black belt when you%26#039;re ready for it.
Hatsumi in one of his earlier books (though, for the life of me, I can%26#039;t recall which... Perhaps Renyo will remember) discussed the %26quot;mountain%26quot; of martial arts, and how ninpo is the %26quot;cloud above the mountain.
Consider finding your way up the mountain. The black belt (shodan) is you finding your way to the base of the trail. All subsequent grades are progress up.
Just remember -- in all your hurry to get a belt to coordinate with your uniform, you%26#039;re completely forgetting that they sell for about $5 at the martial arts store. Has about the same value either way -- it still just keeps your gi closed.|||sorry cathydah is wrong the belt system did start in Japanese and Korean martial arts you would start with a white belt wrapped around your GI the collar change was from dirt, blood and sweat as time went on your belt would blacken and eventually would ware back out into a aged whitish color coming full circle to prove your experience by visual proof of your hard work.but to answer your question it cant really be answered by anyone who is not the exact skill level as you and attending the same school as you because every school does it different not style.
sorry bud i only give thumbs down to people who ignore the guestion dont answer it and just run on with facts and opinions.|||You can purchase them online but they are pricey for the course or you can just a black belt for $4.99 and tell everyone you are one like all the other idiots out there do.
As for this dingbat that said there are no belts systems in Japan or China, you are way wrong. I trained in both Japan and China and they do have belt ranks...another example of a moron talking without actually having been there.|||BUJINKAN 3-6 years, depending...sometimes more. In Bujinkan, Black Belt don%26#039;t mean sh1t. Godan, Judan and Jugodan means something.
so Marky you give me thumbs down just because you don%26#039;t like my answer to one of your questions....pathetic
however cathydalmer, Marky W is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT.|||Depends on your chakra levels,
Are you working also with genjustsu or taijutsu
Not sure, are you chunnin yet?|||Depends how quickly the bank cashes your check.|||Belts are an American standard. In China and Japan, argueabley the homelands of marshal arts, there is no belts at all. Star Wars represents the China/Japan ranking systems for martial arts better than American MA.
However, the master being a ninja takes a lifetime, starting at early youth.
hahaha that marky dude is full of crap, he doesn%26#039;t know what he%26#039;s talking about. There is not truth to what he said what so ever, he just made that up.. I swear, if he gets best answer I%26#039;m never telling the truth on a Y! answer again :P
